I began my education journey at the University of West Georgia in Carrollton. Originally, I wanted to pursue a career in the medical field but found myself wanting to become a teacher. I started teaching in Savannah Georgia and now live here with my family in the Chattanooga area. I recently graduated from Thomas University with my masters in middle grades reading. I am currently in my 6th year with public education. I have taught in both Tennessee and Georgia and my focus has been secondary education in science and ELA. Helping young people learn to read and gain a better understanding literacy is my passion. Encouraging young adults and children to be creative and derive joy out of literature is one of the highlights of my life.
