We Are Traveling Tutors.
Welcome to Traveling Tutors of Chattanooga, the region’s trusted traveling tutoring service dedicated to helping students achieve academic success. Our founder, Elizabeth Langs, spent 7 years teaching in the classroom before venturing into tutoring. She saw the opportunity to form deeper connections with students and families while providing the personalized support they needed to excel academically. Her passion for serving the community through education led to the creation of Traveling Tutors of Chattanooga, where we believe every student deserves the opportunity to thrive.
Since its inception, the business has grown rapidly, and we’re proud to have a team of over 45 highly qualified tutors. Our tutors are experienced in a wide range of subjects, from math and science to reading, writing, and test preparation. We take pride in carefully matching each student with a tutor who fits their specific needs, ensuring the best possible learning experience—whether it’s in-person or virtual.
In the past two years, Traveling Tutors of Chattanooga has built strong partnerships with local schools such as Chattanooga Christian School (CCS), Silverdale Baptist Academy, Brainerd Baptist, and Notre Dame, solidifying our role as a trusted educational resource in the community. We’re also proud of our community partnership with The Austin Hatcher Foundation, which reflects our commitment to supporting families and students throughout Chattanooga.

How long are sessions?Typically sessions are an hour. We find this to be most appropriate. For younger students, we typically include a short break to keep them engaged in the sessions. For some of our older students, they may need additional time depending on the content needing to be covered.

How many times a week?Most families have one session a week. However, if your child has more significant needs, we’d recommend more than once a week in order to see quicker results. The more consistent sessions are, the more effective sessions will be.

How do we pay?We invoice all of our clients every Friday. The invoice is sent to the email included on your intake form. Invoices are due within 7 days.

How much are sessions?Our in person rate is $65/hour. Our virtual rate is $50/hour.

Do you offer online tutoring?Yes! Our virtual tutoring service connects students with expert tutors online, providing personalized support in a flexible, convenient format. Boost academic success from the comfort of home with tailored lessons that fit your schedule!

What do we need to get started?We would need our intake form filled out with all of your basic information. Once we have that, we are able to reach out to our team to see who is the best fit for your specific needs.

What materials should we have?A quiet space as free from distractions as possible.

What grades do you tutor?We work with students in grades K-12th in math & literacy. We currently do not offer tutoring for science or foreign languages.
