Mandy is an experienced educator with over 20 years of professional teaching in a wide range of environments, including charter schools, private schools, a top state-ranked Montessori school, a virtual school, as well as traditional public brick-and-mortar campuses and colleges.
With such an eclectic background, Mandy is able to serve the academic needs of students, support parents and families, as well as offer teachers insight in meeting student needs in the classroom. Early in her career, Mandy had the privilege of serving as a Reading Specialist and Special Education Coordinator at a rigorous Arizona Montessori school. Here, she supported a team of interventionists and their students each day. During this time, she worked closely with the Head of School to ensure that all state standards were not only met but exceeded in order to complete the accreditation process. This experience made the imperative of working closely with students and parents alongside teachers and administration a priority in all of her future professional work. Developing and leading professional development for teachers, supportive Q & A sessions for parents, and enriching after school tutoring programs for students have all been frequent experiences for her. Currently, Mandy is working as an educational consultant and private tutor, which gives her the opportunity to serve individual students with increased attention and support, particularly when it is in collaboration with the student’s teachers and administration. This work serves as a small but powerful reminder that when communities gather around one individual student--one student at a time--the value of learning together grows and deepens. |
