My name is Melissa Incorvia and I currently teach science at Hixson High School. I have taught middle school science, Biology, Bioethics, Scientific Research, and Environmental Science. I have a BS in Medical Technology and my first career was working as a Medical Laboratory Scientist in various hospital, research, and IVF laboratories. I entered teaching 5 years ago because of the lack of qualified science teachers, and because of my love of science and getting others excited about it! I earned my Master of Education from UTC Chattanooga, and have enjoyed my transition from the laboratory to the classroom. I tend to use real world examples with students for complex scientific issues so it becomes more meaningful for them. I am a mom to 2 middle school boys and 4 rescue dogs. I enjoy spending time with my family in the beautiful outdoors of Chattanooga, and have found yoga to be a great tool for stress relief while teaching during a pandemic. I cannot wait to connect with you about all things science!
